Hi there after some requests as promised

a short blog on how I created this

keepsake box.

Take a paper mache box, this was one I picked up at the NEC last year, a

protected desk, you can use black bin bags, I have a linoleum cover for my desk. A plastic plate,

a washed piece of an old cotton night dress and Powertex.

Don’t forget your plastic gloves.

After putting on your plastic gloves, take you fabric and coat on the plate in the powertex. Massage it into

the fabric making sure all of it is covered and is worked into the cloth.

Looks really awful, but keep going.

Paint the surface of the box with some of the powertex to act as a glue for the fabric.

No, its not chocolate so don’t be tempted.

Drape and shape the fabric over the box, playing with it to position the draping of the fabric where you want it.

Repeat for all sides and leave to dry, overnight

The embellishments were made with moulds and paper clay painted with

distress inks.

I coloured the side with a mixture of perfect, pearls and coloured waxes.

I also painted the inside with acrylic paint to give a rich glossy finish.

your creations.
