April 2015 Clock Challenge

Morning,

Welcome to this month’s Clarity Stamp Blog Challenge.

The theme is clocks, this is my take on the challenge and I hope you like it.

Don’t forget to drop in and see all the lovely art created by the design team at

http://claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk.

Please also have a look at the wonderful creations the Clarity Crafters made for last month’s challenge.

Thanks to all who entered the Challenge, hope you enjoyed it and to the winner and top 5, congratulations.

Don’t forget Barbara is on Create and Craft this weekend. I will be watching, hope you will be too.

For this clock I started with one of the large square canvas, I marked the centre and drilled a hole

for the hands to come through.

Next I painted it with blue metallic paint and left dry. Then using paper arty crackle I spread a layer of it over sections of the painted canvas. I left it dry for a few minutes, then painted over with white acrylic pain. I have to say

I have tried using several products for creating a crackle effect but this is fantastic.

Next I stamped the broken line, which I thought looks like stitching from the journaling set all round the edge of the canvas. The ovals from the numbers set, I only used 4 as I did’nt want it too cluttered.

2015-04-26 14.29.02

I then stamped in the numbers, let dry and used glossy accents to highlight them.

I then stamped the craft o’clock from the letter kit.

Next I stamped and coloured in with distress inks, embossed others from

the re-mountable sets. They are so useful, love them.

So from stitching, to writing, cooking to gardening and flower arranging, then onto family time and painting

all covered in these sets.

I also used the girl from the mother and girl stencil, masking off the umbrella, as

for around 9 o’clock as this is usually the last of family time in the evening.

I then added the clock mechanism.

It was finished.

I have included a photo below of everything I used and hope you have enjoyed the step by step.

Let me know what you think and I hope to see your creation soon.

Hi there, well, the super weekend continued with dinner with some of

the special people in my life. Lots of laughs.

Pete the wonderful husband of our friend Jane collected us early on Sunday morning and away we went to

Pink Tulip Creations in Warwickshire. a lovely craft shop and a super workshop. We received a lovely welcome and were spoilt all day the cups of coffee and encouragement. A few little crafting bits and bobs just happened to jump into my basket. Well that’s my story for hubby and I’m sticking to it.

Sunday’s project was the transformation of Candy Box Crafts Notelet box ( have another one to do, beautifully made.)

It has a hinged top, which open and storage for notelets/paper  and a separate section for pensetc

Here is a link to Karen’s blog for photos of the day

More workshops from Karen on this piece so I wont do a detailed step by step, hope you understand.

It was super and her design was just beautiful.

Here is my attempt, just the top of the box, picked up lots of tips, loved every minute.

Thanks Karen.

Emilia Keepsake Box

Good morning,

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

This morning I thought I would share not a valentine card but a keepsake box, I made

for my granddaughter Emilia. I can’t believe she is nearly 4 weeks old.

I hope her Mum will use this to put in her little treasures and that she will do the same as she get older.

It started life as a paper mache box and I have to say I’m pleased with it.

I am having a lot of fun with my fabric hardener powertex, so watch this space for more adventures.

Happy Valentines day, hope you have love in your life.

Drop in and leave me a comment if you get a chance.

Bye for now.

Naomi

Hi there,

Well as it’s the 1st of the month, there is a new Challenge at the Clarity Stamp Challenge Blog and this

month’s theme is Travel.

Congratulation to all who entered last month’s challenge, your art was wonderful.

It’s the 1 st thing I do in the morning, I pop in a see what lovely entries have been added.

So if you entered last month, thanks and if not hopefully you will not join in this month.

The winner gets a voucher for £50.00 and more importantly you get to Challenge yourself.

Here is the link claritystampchallenge.blogspot.com.

Pop in and have a look at all the dt inspiration.

Well this is my project and I hope you like it.

For Nov Clarity Challenge

It started life as a hardback notebook, with a shiny cover in black, not very exciting is it ?

2014-10-28 13.50.47

Step 1,

Cover it front and back with two coats of white gesso.

Step 2.

Take the beautiful Rose Panel Stencil and place it along the edge. Spread some grunge paste through it.

Only use masking tape and the top and bottom, do not attach to the gesso, it will pull it off. If it does,

you will have to add another coat, guess how many are on mine ?.

Then leave the building, so you are not tempted to touch it takes a while to dry.

Do not take out your magnifying glass, yes there are one or two of my finger prints on it.

2014-10-28 15.38.31

Step 3

While resisting the over whelming temptation to touch to see if it is dry.

Take the so clever Paris Collage Stamp and stamp 3 times with versamark onto cream card and

heat emboss with gold embossing powered. Soften the colour with old photo

distress ink, I added a little more that this photo shows.

I then cut my images up as I wanted to layer the sections for some added dimension.

 Step 4.

Stamp and emboss the largest image, the Paris Collage stamp onto, the cover as a guide for the layers you will add later.

Then take some of the images from the journaling set and stamp them using vintage photo onto the cover.

I was honestly going for a shabby chic look, so I did’nt want perfect stamping. If you do

open the cover and put a good wad of paper behind it, making sure you use a good amount of ink.

This is the stage, when you think to yourself, will I be starting again ?

2014-10-28 20.03.17

Step 5

Sorry I did’nt take more photos of these steps, I was so focused.

Placing the Rose stencil back over the grunge paste

colour using distress markers, I had never tried them on the grunge paste before, love how they worked.

Step 6

Take your Clarity Stencil brushes and gently using the colours below add a little of each, in soft strokes,

till you are happy with the effect. Remember gently does it, build it up.

Step 7

Stick your layers of the Paris Collage on the cover, using the image on the cover as a guide.

Step 8

Tone both the stencil panel and stamp part of the cover into one another, by adding a little

of the Vintage photo and brush corduroy all over.

2014-10-28 21.35.14

Step 9

Finish off the front by adding a little treasured gold wax to the whole of the cover.

When dry using the same colours, gently using the stencil brushes, add colour to

the back cover to match the front.

Here are the ingredients.

Well that’s it. I hope you like it. Drop in and leave me a comment if you get a minute.

Oh I nearly forgot, say hi if you are going to the NEC show next Thursday & Friday and see me there.

Bye for now.

Naomi
