Good Morning everyone.
Congratulations to all who took part in last month’s Clarity Challenge. Such amazing projects.
Congratulations the winner and the top 5.
This months Challenge should be fantastic, just wait till you see what my Challenge team mates have come up with at http://claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
The Challenge this month is shaped cards. I had seen a cute Jean bum card and thought it might be something you would like and that you could make without a die cutting or electronic cutting machine.
Then I remembered that Barbara Gray had made a jean card in the project club, I think it is number 91, and she used difference colours. and a square card. For those of you who are part of the new design club, have a look.
So to begin. I drew a bum shape (forgive the pun) on copy paper and cut it out of a large piece of centuara pearl card folded in half. I placed the top on the jeans just over the fold so that the back and the front were cut together.
Next I used the burlap from the Journaling stamp set
(http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Information/Search/15301-/Journaling—Unmounted-Clear-Stamp-Set)
and VERY LIGHTLY, stamped the 3rd generation of ink onto the card using Denim, Stonewashed and cloudy skies. I then lightly brayered Denin
all over. The photo of what it look like after it was brayered has disappeared.
Then I stamped the pockets,(http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/New-Design-Club/New-Design-Stamp-Club-Back-Issues/16228-/NDC-91-Pocket-Backissue) in the same way and brayered, to soften the stamping out and to give a soft chambray look to the Jeans, and cut them out.
Following Barbara’s instructions I drew the seams in pencil and pierced them with
a piercing ruler and made in the stitching with a distress marker ( denim of course).
I then attached the pockets, using pinflair glue to give them dimension. I also made
the loops in the same way and shaped them to stand out from the card.
I was tempted to stamp one of the wee folk on the pockets, with his hands outspread,
more or less saying this big, but resisted. Too true for me.
This picture, lets you see that the card will stand up on it’s own.
I finished it by stamping with Live Laugh, Love again from Clarity Stamps Limited.
I do hope you have enjoyed the card and had a laugh, that was the idea.
Hope you have fun making one, and look forward to seeing your projects.
Bye for now.
Naomi

Naomi, this is brilliant and really effective. Its so much fun. I think you’d have to know the recipient pretty well to put the wee man on the pockets! Xxx
