Morning,
Welcome to this month’s Clarity Stamp Blog Challenge.
The theme is clocks, this is my take on the challenge and I hope you like it.
Don’t forget to drop in and see all the lovely art created by the design team at
http://claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk.
Please also have a look at the wonderful creations the Clarity Crafters made for last month’s challenge.
Thanks to all who entered the Challenge, hope you enjoyed it and to the winner and top 5, congratulations.
Don’t forget Barbara is on Create and Craft this weekend. I will be watching, hope you will be too.
For this clock I started with one of the large square canvas, I marked the centre and drilled a hole
for the hands to come through.
Next I painted it with blue metallic paint and left dry. Then using paper arty crackle I spread a layer of it over sections of the painted canvas. I left it dry for a few minutes, then painted over with white acrylic pain. I have to say
I have tried using several products for creating a crackle effect but this is fantastic.
Next I stamped the broken line, which I thought looks like stitching from the journaling set all round the edge of the canvas. The ovals from the numbers set, I only used 4 as I did’nt want it too cluttered.
I then stamped in the numbers, let dry and used glossy accents to highlight them.
I then stamped the craft o’clock from the letter kit.
Next I stamped and coloured in with distress inks, embossed others from
the re-mountable sets. They are so useful, love them.
So from stitching, to writing, cooking to gardening and flower arranging, then onto family time and painting
all covered in these sets.
I also used the girl from the mother and girl stencil, masking off the umbrella, as
for around 9 o’clock as this is usually the last of family time in the evening.
I then added the clock mechanism.
It was finished.
I have included a photo below of everything I used and hope you have enjoyed the step by step.
Let me know what you think and I hope to see your creation soon.
What I used
Bye for now.

I think you’ve captured all the crafts that will be close to so many people’s hearts, and I love the way you equate it to your family time together. A brilliant design and a lot of work has gone into your clock. Presumably it will be mounted somewhere in your home?
Great blog…and I spy some stamps that I don’t have but would quite like to have in my stash too!!!!
Enjoy your weekend Naomi xxx

Hi Naomi, I’m afraid my earlier comment did not publish, as I’ve just discovered so many apologies for this late offering. (I think that’s about five to date, so I’m not a very happy bunny presently.)
Your canvas is so appealing to all of us who craft and it also serves as a reminder of all the other crafts we may have dabbled in, in the past and perhaps may act as a prompt to explore once again. As for the crackle glaze, I second your statement to the letter. ;~}

Hi Naomi, the iPad wouldn’t play ball with a number of Challenge DT blogs yesterday, and I tried morning and night, so please forgive the tardy comment; now resorted to Mike’s laptop!
Back to the business in hand:-
Your clock is simply brilliant and would not only endear itself to any crafter but remind and encourage us to revisit latent skills. I love how you have drawn together a number of stamp sets in such an interesting manner. Pride of place on your craft room wall, I hope! ;~}
